Costa del Sol is hit by torrential rainfall and hail – Costa News Spain

Storms batter Costa del Sol.

A DANA weather phenomenon caused flooding again on the Costa del Sol. The worst flooding began in the west of the region.

Hail storms have ravaged Casares and Estepona, making the road surfaces very slippery. The latest DANA-strength system has swept the Costa del Sol, causing chaos with traffic and dangerous conditions for those who are already trying to navigate the roads.

Some roads have been blocked in the area of Casares by flooding.

Benalmadena fire officials warn people not to drive or walk through flooded areas. In the event that your car is stuck in a flood and the water level reaches the middle of the wheels or continues rising, it’s time to get out. If your doors won’t open, you should try to leave through the window.

It was ironic that on Thursday, 27 February, numerous news outlets reported that Malaga Province had experienced its driest Februar since records began.

Rains will continue to be intense into Sunday and then become lighter at the start of the week, up until Wednesday.
