Costa Blanca real estate sales are up compared to 2007 boom prices

The National Institute of Statistics(INE) reports that the Alicante region has sold 46,334 properties in the first ten months of 2025.

This total is higher than 2007 when the country was in the midst of a real estate boom. The figure at the time was 46,196.

According to the INE, 5,160 transactions took place in October. This makes it the busiest time of the year for the region.

Only Madrid and Barcelona, which are much more populous, recorded higher numbers.

The second hand homes accounted for nearly 80%, while the new constructions accounted for 1,060 transactions, the second largest number in the entire year after January.

The volume of new construction sales has significantly increased since 1998.

In 2007, the number of new homes sold from January to October was 19,460, but in the same time period this year it was just a little over 9,000.

The platform’s director of studies, Ferran Font, described them as ‘great figures’.

Font commented that despite a slight drop compared to 2024, the property market continues to show ‘great activity, installed at historic levels’.

He said: “Demand for mortgages is expected to rise, and with it the price.”

Price increases are expected in the near future because the demand exceeds the supply.
