Classic convertibles: the wind in your hair and road freedom dreams for 2026

Are you looking for an original way to spend the holidays in Malaga? A unique experience that is unlikely to be repeated. Head to the Museo del Automóvil y la Moda (Museum of Automobile and Fashion), where a design beauty will reach its maximum in a new temporary exhibition, “La Ruta del Cabrio” (The Convertible Route).

The showcase, which celebrates the timeless charm of convertibles with eight emblematic cars that trace the evolution of the open-top drive from classic European Roadsters to American “pony cars”, is a festive celebration of the allure of these cars. The exhibition is open until January 5. It’s a cultural event for families and petrol heads alike.

Classics that represent freedom, elegance and the joys of roofless travel

Made possible through a collaboration with the Club de Vehículos Deportivos del Sur de Europa, the display puts in the spotlight vehicles that symbolise freedom, elegance, and the joy of roofless travel. The display will take visitors on a journey through the history of automobiles, exploring convertibles as symbols of style, engineering innovation and freedom.

Highlights include

  • Lancia Flavia Cabrio – A masterpiece of Pininfarina from the 1960s, this Italian masterpiece is known for its front-wheel drive sophistication and luxurious ride.
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider – The ultimate “Dolce Vita”, with its sporty handling, cinematic charm and a cinematic feel.
  • Ford Mustang Cabrio V8 – The ultimate American icon for power and aggression in the 1960s.
  • Mercedes-Benz 190SL: A stylish 1950s German roadster that combines style and reliability.
