Charity auction at Coto Restaurant in Benahavis raises €1,500 to help children regain clear sight

Supporters all come together at Coto Restaurant in Benahavis for the Through Our Eyes charity auction, where extremely special artworks sold and generated €1,500 to fund sight-saving operations for children in Malaga and the Costa del Sol.

Demand for leading artists’ works is high

Banksy, Damien Hirst & Sherlock all contributed artworks that attracted a lot of interest among guests. C Del Alma, a rising talent, also had her works receive special attention. The majority of the lots sold and raised funds for specialist procedures to treat rare conditions that affect young patients. Every euro raised advances the expert treatment for children and infants with vision challenges, such as BPES.

A few pieces are still available for purchase

Two Banksy paintings and one Sherlock painting didn’t quite reach their reserves. Contact the UK gallery sponsor of the charity if you are interested in these works or would like to know more. The organizers remain confident that more sales will come in the next few days, and the total amount will rise.

The founder thanks all those involved

Vanessa Rodrigo Jakubowski, founder of Through Our Eyes, shared her thoughts after the event. “We couldn’t have been happier with the way the evening went.” We are thrilled to see such a strong response from the community and that all money raised will directly help children to see more clearly. This is only the beginning. We’re confident that all the pieces will soon find their rightful homes, and we are closer to our goal with every euro raised. “I’d like to thank our sponsors and Coto Restaurant, who hosted the auction with such kindness. Inez Robinson also led it so well.”

Additional contributions are expected soon

The organizers thanked everyone who came, supported the cause and bid. More transactions will likely push this figure up soon. Proceeds are used to fund operations, provide community support, and improve early diagnosis of conditions such as BPES, ptosis, and Marcus Gunn jaw winking syndrome.
