The BritPop authority, one of the newest bands on the Costa del Sol, will pay tribute to the musical movement of the 90s in the Cazbah Live Lounge, La Cala de Mijas, on Saturday, 21st February.
The BritPop Authority is the first Cool Britannia tribute show in the province. After performing for eight years as New Tricks at venues along California’s coast, the group wanted a new direction.
The repertoire of the four-piece group includes classic songs from Britpop, which was led by bands such as Pulp and Oasis. It also features songs from Blur and Suede. The Jam and The Clash were pioneering bands who paved the path.
Londoner Pete Carter fronts this band that is described as “capturing Oasis swagger, and Blur innovation”, and recreates the sounds, atmosphere, and clothing of an exciting era. This era was marked by the mod style of the 1960s.
They will perform in Mijas at 9pm, which is the first of a three-performance tour that also includes Seville and Cordoba.
Tickets cost 5 euros at the entrance.
