Caroline Sice, a Estepona resident, will embark on a 70-km, six-day trek in June. She will reach 1,430m of elevation along the French Camino de Santiago. The walk aims at raising funds for AECC Estepona as well as Collective Calling. Both charities are close to Caroline Sice’s heart.
Jane was diagnosed breast cancer in December 2020. She underwent chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. She was declared cancer-free by September 2021 but faced many challenges including emotional recovery, heart damage and chronic joint pain. Her journey is a symbol of hope and resilience, honoring those who have battled cancer, lost their lives, and are yet to fight it.
AECC Estepona is part of the Spanish Association Against Cancer and provides essential support and resources. Jane credited their team with giving her strength in the darkest of days. Collective Calling supports homeless people in Estepona, and helps vulnerable children from Tanzania. This local charity has opened a new store in Estepona to address the growing divide.
Jane has invited sponsorship for her Camino that will start on 12 May. All donations will be split equally among the charities. ‘Every euro makes an impact,’ she said. Her mission is to turn hardship into hope. Supporters can donate via AECC Estepona (contraelcancer.es) or Collective Calling (collectivecalling.org) or by her GoFundMe page AECC Estepona and the Collective Calling Charity in Estepona.
