Carlos Alcaraz helps local community raise funds

Carlos Alcaraz was a tennis star who made a surprise but welcomed appearance at El Valle Golf Resort, Murcia. The tennis player helped raise money to support a good cause.

Louise Eikeland lives on the 18th Fairway and told us that she saw Alcaraz play a casual game with three friends. “I just asked him if he could sign a handkerchief for our breast-cancer charity event,” said Eikeland. He couldn’t have treated me better.”

The glove was auctioned off at the “Play It Pink Golf Tournament” held by the resort recently. The “Play It Pink” golf tournament brought together 122 players dressed in pink to raise money and awareness for breast-cancer charities.

“The glove made over €400 in the auction on Saturday night,” Louise said. “Big thanks to Carlos!”

Carlos Alcaraz: a tennis player who is beloved on and off court

Carlos Alcaraz has a lot more to his name than just tennis. His big smile and his down-to earth way of dealing with people make him a favorite. It’s because he is always happy to stop and chat or take a picture that he is so popular in Murcia. He is talented, sincere, and someone that people are proud to be able to call their own. His presence at El Valle made the auction and the day even more exciting.

Local events such as this can support the community

The tournament meant more to many than golf. It was a great opportunity to get together, have a fun day outdoors and raise funds for an important cause. From the pink outfits and friendly competition to the colourful pink attire, the day showed how sport can be combined with community to make a big difference.
