Axarquia is blanketed in white hailstorm and homes in Rincon de la Victoria are flooded by heavy hailstorm
On Christmas Eve, the residents of Rincon de la Victoria as well as much of Axarquia were surprised by a hailstorm which left a blanket of white sand on the beach.
AEMET was prompted to issue an alert in the area for thunderstorms and an orange warning for accumulated rain of up 30 litres/square metre per hour. Although the white blanket lasted only a short time, the Junta de Andalucia issued a yellow warning about possible flooding.
