BritPop Authority: Old dogs in Malaga Province who definitely have a new trick or two

BritPop Authority : Malaga Province old dogs who have at least one new trick

After eight successful years performing across the coast, the acclaimed live band New Tricks has just announced the launch of their brand-new project, The BritPop Authority – a lively tribute to one of the most influential musical movements of the 1990s.

New Tricks, a Costa del Sol-based cover act known for its high-quality musicianship and precision, has become a staple at countless venues including festivals and private parties. The foundation of their act is based on the flawless execution of classic rock and Pop anthems. This has made them an established act at many venues, such as festivals, local venues and private parties. The extensive experience gained from performing on the live circuit for nearly a decade ensures their new tribute acts start with a professional shine.

Celebrating the energy, swagger, and creativity of the Brit Pop era, The new BritPop Authority delivers authentic live performances featuring classics from Pulp, Ocean Colour Scene, Cast, Primal Scream, and, of course, Blur and Oasis – with a respectful hat-tip to the trailblazing bands that paved the way for others, such as The Jam and The Clash. This just shows that even the oldest dogs can be trained.

Each member of this group was raised with these sounds which shaped their music and passion. Pete Carter says, “This isn’t about silly hairstyles or daft tricks.” “It’s about great music – capturing the swagger of Oasis and the innovation of Blur. It’s first and foremost a passion project.” For Pete, Stephen, Mark and Gonzalo, it’s just that – a passion project. And the dancefoor can hear it.

The new venture does not mean that New Tricks is no more. They are known for their extensive range of classics from the 70s, 80s, and 90s ranging from The Rolling Stones up to Robbie Williams. The BritPop authority will run alongside New Tricks. It will cater to tributes nights, festivals and weddings.

Carter continued: “After New Tricks’ success and renewed interest in Brit-Pop, we felt it was the perfect moment to don our Gazelles and our bucket caps and join the tribute bands with music we love. We can cater our set to both Spanish and English audiences, with classics that they will all love, because we have an Irishman, two Brits, and a Spaniard as part of the band.

Bookings are available now. For more information contact them via: thebritpopauthority@gmail.com or find them on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube @thebritpopauthority. You won’t be able to see the passion in February at Torrenueva, Mijas, for those who live on the Costa del Sol. They’ll then play Sevilla, before they return to the Costa. But watch this space.
