SEIZED MARIJUANA

Guardia Civil and Tax Agency officers operating at customs control picked them for a random check after the couple appeared to be ‘nervous and evasive’.

The passengers said that they had no declarations to make and then their luggage was scanned.

The tests revealed a significant amount of organic matter in both bags, despite the fact that neither bag contained any clothes or other personal items.

Officers opened up the cases and discovered a large amount of vacuum-packed plastic.

The initial test revealed the content to be marijuana, with a weight total of 33.5 kilograms.

A Quart de Poblet Court incarcerated the man and woman for crimes against public health.

There are no further details about the couple.
