British man has lung punctured after being stabbed in Valencia by a passerby who refused to give him a cigarette

After refusing to offer a cigarette, a BRITISH man with a punctured lungs was taken to hospital in Valencia.

Police identified the victim as Scottish. She was attacked by a screwdriver.

Valencia Policia Local has arrested a 45-year old man with a criminal history.

On Saturday morning, just before 4am, the shocking attack took place in the centre of the city in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Two officers were called to the scene when a police patrol heard screams from a woman.

The Uruguayan female, whose age was not disclosed, was with the Scotsman when the assault occurred.

She told police that the assailant approached the ‘young man’ to ask for a cigarette but he refused.

He stabbed him with a screwdriver as a response.

The attacker was still present when the police arrived. He was arrested immediately.

It is important to note that the word “you” means “you”. Las Provincias newspaper described him as having ‘disturbed mental faculties’.

The Scottish victim has been admitted to Doctor Peset University Hospital, Valencia.

His condition has not been updated.
