A BRITISH national wanted by Turkey in connection with drug trafficking was arrested at Alicante Elche Airport after flying from London Stansted.
The 44-years-old man faces a 30-year prison sentence for offenses dating back to 2007 and an International Arrest Warrant was issued against him.
The British passport was flagged by the officers of the Policia Nacional at the passport control after they checked the database.

The crimes were committed by him in October 2007. He was a member of an organized gang engaged in the production and transportation of narcotics.
He and others were accused drug trafficking, including exporting of products.
The Turkish investigation revealed the man purchased more than 23,600 kilograms of heroin from third parties and concealed them in a truck loaded with textiles.
The money involved in the transaction and the drugs were confiscated during an inspection conducted by the Turkish municipality Cerkezkoy.
He fled from the authorities, but was found guilty and sentenced to 30 years in prison while he was away.
The British national was handed to the National Court in order to process his extradition.
