A BRITISH Airways flight from London Heathrow bound for Gibraltar was forced to divert to Malaga with passengers reporting ‘smoke in the cabin’.
After flying over the Rock, the flight left London at 1.12pm local and landed at Malaga at 4.55pm peninsular.

British Airways stated that the flight had been redirected because of technical issues, but provided no details.
GBC passengers reported that smoke was present in the cabin. However, no injuries were reported.
Gibraltar’s government confirmed the reports, and is waiting for more information from the airline.

Meanwhile, the other three flights scheduled to arrive at the Rock on Sunday – a British Airways flight from Heathrow and two EasyJet services from Gatwick and Bristol – landed safely with no reported incidents.
