A BRITISH man was extradited back to the UK after being charged with a number of drug and weapon charges in Spain.
Craig Bennett, 41, from Uxbridge, London, had been on the run for three years in connection with the movement of £2 million worth of illegal substances – including cocaine and ketamine – along with a silenced handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, and over £500,000 in cash.
Bennett was captured on July 29th in Sants, Barcelona by the Polica Nacional.

Bennett’s extradition has been expedited, and on 14 August, he was returned to the UK by officers of the Joint International Crime Centre at the UK National Crime Agency.
Bennett appeared in Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, Uxbridge on August 15 and was charged with 16 offenses including conspiracy to distribute Class A drugs as well as conspiracy to transfer firearms.
He was remanded into custody and will be appearing at Reading Crown Court in 2025.
John Turner, NCA’s senior investigating officer, said: “This arrest represents a significant step forward in the investigation of a dangerous organized crime group that trafficked massive amounts drugs and deadly weapons. We will work with international law-enforcement to find and bring to trial those responsible for serious crimes.
