Breaking News – Serious Accident on A-7 in Estepona

A grave accident occurred today around 2:00 PM on the A-7 highway, heading towards Cádiz. Reports indicate that a vehicle collided with another and then crashed into the median, causing significant damage to the car. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and firefighters worked to rescue the individual from inside the vehicle. Thankfully, the person is conscious and, although they have sustained some minor injuries, their life is not in danger.

The accident has caused severe traffic disruptions, with long delays extending several kilometers, especially around the San Pedro de Alcántara tunnel and bridge. Social media users are voicing their frustrations, with one commenter saying, “How much longer will this continue, all because of poorly designed exits? We desperately need an acceleration lane!” Another post lamented, “The Costa del Sol’s roads are a disaster, with accidents happening year-round, and the highway still isn’t fully open. It’s becoming a trap!”

As authorities work to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow, drivers are advised to take alternative routes to avoid the area. One frustrated driver remarked, “An hour from Puerto Banús to the Benahavís junction, no updates, just a traffic jam.” Local residents are calling for urgent improvements to the infrastructure, with some fearing the situation will worsen.
