This afternoon, a fire broke out in Marbella sending smoke plumes into the sky above Puerto Banus.
The blaze was first reported near the Marbella Arena bullring – now an events venue – and close to Centro Plaza, a busy commercial hub packed with shops, bars and restaurants.
INFOCA (Andalucia’s forest fire service) confirmed the incident. They also said that reinforcements had been sent.
Two elite wildfire units, a support group and a heavy Super Puma have joined the fight.

Residents shared online photos and maps showing the exact location, behind Avenida Manolete on the hillside over Nueva Andalucia.
Some neighbors have reported that smoke is beginning to clear.
The fire is close to Puerto Banus in Spain, a famous luxury resort.
