Brass First Anniversary Celebration

Brass, the brassiere restaurant of Costa del Sol restaurant supremo René Schäfer, celebrated its first anniversary on Thursday, May 29, to a full house all donning black and gold.

At the elegant Elviria Restaurant, the multi-national crowd enjoyed their delicious meals prepared by Chef Alexandre Lambert. The service was friendly and attentive. At the entrance, René greeted guests along with performers, including a charmingly witty mime and the musical sax and piano combo Zing Duo.

Friends and fans filled the venue for the finest international cuisine around to celebrate another roaring success by the seasoned Marbella restaurateur, René Schäfer, who has found his home after a long string of successes along the Costa del Sol, including roles at Nikki Beach Worldwide, Conrad Hotels & Resorts and Villa Padierna Hotels & Resorts and restaurants.

EWN: How long has Chef Lambert been in your life?

René: “We all know one another here. All of us are part of one community. One big family. Marbella’s hospitality community. I have worked in Miami. I’ve also worked in Mexico. In Marbella, I’ve worked for Nikki Beach; I’ve worked for Dani García in Grupo Mosh. I’ve done a bit of everything – beach clubs, restaurants, fine dining, nightclubs. So, I decided to finally open my place.

EWN: Who are our customers?

René: The mix is huge. I have Norwegians on three tables; I have Dutch at four or five tables. Four more tables are Germans.

EWN: Everyone comes to you because they trust and know you?

René: Elviria, I believe. Brass knows me and my customers. I want to combine music and food. Beats and flavours’

It’s not as intrusive in comparison to other establishments. The music complements rather than dominates the ambience.

René Schäfer’s application and bet have paid off with the finest of dining and a laid-back community together feel. The dress code was black and gold, and no one had to comply but did for René.
