Sally Chapman moved to Bedar from the UK in January 2020, and to find new friends who share her interests, she founded Bedar Book Club.
Sally envisioned a club that was relaxed in style and accessible to everyone—even those who may not have read the book. Her vision created a welcoming environment where diverse minds come together to engage in discussions and explore different genres.
Encouragement of friendship and literary exchange.
The club’s core is a sense of fun and levity. The room is filled with laughter as each member shares their opinions, creating a sense of belonging. Each meeting ends with a group score of the book. The group scores the book out of 10 at the end of each meeting.
Sally recommends titles like The Beekeeper of Aleppo, by Christy Lefteri, and Where the Crawdad’s Sing, by Delia Owens. These choices reflect the club’s commitment to exploring diverse narratives that inspire lively discussion.
Meetings take place on the first monday of each month at 2pm, at the Miramar Restaurante in Bedar. Sally can be contacted directly by anyone interested in joining or for more information via WhatsApp or Messenger at 711009290.
