Bars closed in Benidorm’s ‘English Zone’ after police purge against drug trafficking

FOUR bars have been closed in Benidorm’s ‘English Zone’ after police discovered drugs inside them.

Seven people, including British, Pakistani and Moroccan nationals, have been arrested for public health offenses.

Narcotics with a street value of around €30,000 have been seized.

Benidorm’s Policia Local has searched six bars and nightclubs in the Rincon de Loix region, a popular tourist destination for British tourists.

Four buildings were closed, at least temporarly, as a result of the inspections.

Included in the items seized The 200 grams of cocaine is 300 LSD and MDMA tablets. 200 portions of marijuana, 20 grams of hashish, eight bottles of laughing gas plus mobile phones and €3,000 in cash.

Police reported that some drugs were stashed in unexpected places, including toilet paper holders.

Two people were detained in March after 85 doses of MDMA Ecstasy, Cocaine and Marijuana was found inside a Rincon de Loix Pub.

Narcotics were hidden under the cash register, in toilet cisterns, and in fire extinguishers.
