At police checkpoints, Estepona and Marbella arrests of criminals wanted in Turkey and Ukraine for murder are made

Two foreign fugitives were arrested at routine checkpoints by the Policia Nacional of Estepona and Marbella.

International Arrest Warrants were issued for both the Turkish and Ukrainian men.

Both men were wanted in connection with violent assaults that involved guns.

One incident resulted fatally, while the other victim suffered serious injuries.

The first arrest was made on Estepona’s Avenida Pernet on 9 March.

Interpol had issued an arrest warrant for a 26-year old Turkish man on behalf of the Turkish authorities.

He was a member of a group which shot dead someone in Izmir, back in September 20,23. His associates also helped him escape.

Seven days later, officers of the Policia Nacional from Marbella arrested an Ukrainian man aged 34 in Nueva Andalucia – on a warrant issued by Interpol.

The fugitive has been involved in the attempted assassination of In 2019, a man is seen in the Ukrainian town of Zaporiyia.

The victim was shot three times, which left him seriously injured, although the quick action of paramedics saved his life.

The National Court of Madrid has been notified to handle the extradition.
