Andalucia Metro systems reach new record of 60 million users

Andalucia’s metro system has exceeded 60 million passengers for the first ever in one year.

The metro networks of Sevilla, Málaga and Granada, all managed by the regional government of Andalusia, reached record-breaking usage figures in 2025, reflecting a growing reliance on metropolitan rail.

The three metros have never been so heavily used since they were launched in 2009 (Sevilla), 2014. (Malaga), and 2017. (Granada).

They closed together 2025 with approximately 60 million passengers. This number rises to over 62 million if additional services are added.

Sevilla’s Metro led the surge and will reach nearly 23 million passengers by 2025, its highest number in history. In addition to the system’s anniversary year, this was also its most successful performance yet.
