Alicante hospital arrests surgeon after DIY amputation at home of his father’s toes, and death that followed.

A 54-year-old ALICANTE doctor was arrested by the Policia Nacional for the death of his father, who died after he amputated his toes partially at home.

Sepsis is suspected in the death of 90-year old man.

At his home, his son-a surgeon-performed the procedure on his right leg.

POLICIA NACIONAL ARRESTS

The nursing home staff where his father was staying called emergency services when he returned in poor condition after the clandestine mission.

He was taken by ambulance to an emergency unit in a hospital where he later died.

A coroner will determine the cause of death.

After being informed of the link between the death of his father and the injuries he sustained, the Policia Nacional arrested the surgeon.
