Alhaurin el Grande opened a new dog park in the middle of town on May 14. It is a spacious and safe area for dogs to enjoy.
The new canine play park, located next to Parque de La Libertad, was created to provide local dogs with a space dedicated to socialising, playing and exercising. Teresa Sanchez Ramirez was the Councillor for Animal Welfare who led the opening celebration. She invited residents to the event, as well as their furry friends.
The event began at 6pm with a demonstration by the Local Police K9 Unit. The event also featured a dog show that showcased the skills of both dogs and their handlers.
The Animal Welfare Department of the local council gave a small present to each dog that attended the event. The initiative highlights Alhaurin el Grande’s dedication to promoting pet care and animal welfare.
The new park will serve as a place of community gathering for dog owners, providing a clean and safe environment where dogs can roam freely and their owners are able to connect. The park adds to the growing number of green spaces in the town and enhances both the quality of life for residents and their pets.
The town hall encourages pet owners to make use of the area and to follow basic rules in order to provide a pleasant experience to everyone. The town hall reminds visitors to keep their area clean and supervise pets.
