Unfortunate news for the previous ATP Mallorca Tennis Champion, and for the fans who had hoped to see him: Alejandro Tabilo, a Chilean tennis player who was returning to Santa Ponça, Mallorca, to defend his title, has withdrawn from the ATP Mallorca Tennis Championships 2025 due to injuries.

Tabilo, a left-handed player, had suffered from an accumulation of fluid in the bone marrow for some time. He also suffered a grade three tear of his right rectus abdominalis during the Czech Open semifinal.

Tabilo, as of the time of writing this article, is ranked 55th. The sad turn of events could cause him to lose between 350 and 400 points over the next week, potentially demoting him from the top 100 tennis players of the world. Tabilo withdrawn from Wimbledon as well, where he did very well last year and reached the third-round.

“We don’t yet know when we can return but we will strive to make it as soon as we possibly can. I hope that you will understand my situation and continue to be supportive. I will see you when I return.” Tabilo remained positive despite the pain of his situation.

There will also be many other players who are hungry for victory. They say that the show must continue.
