Sabor a Málaga, the Malaga province brand for the promotion of local agri-food products, is teaming up with the Alcampo hypermarket in Marbella to promote the finest in Malaga products.
Up until February 28, you will find around 150 local food products from 30 local producers in the entrance to the store. The message to local business owners is to support them and enjoy the high quality of products that the region offers.
Alcampo buys in over €30 million worth of local products every year from dozens of suppliers that are marketed with the Sabor a Málaga label for quick and easy identification. These include seafood products from the fish markets of the Malaga coast, olive oils from the interior of the province, wines with DOP Sierras de Málaga, dried fruit, pickles, olives from Alora, Malaga goat cheeses, jams, craft beers, charcuterie, sweets, and chocolates, among an array of other products.
At the launch of this year’s promotion, deputy mayor of Marbella, Francisca Caracuel, said that ‘the Malaga pantry is one of the great riches of our province, a value that generates significant job creation in small towns and villages, making them more sustainable and avoiding depopulation.’ She went on to say, ‘Eat well and live better, taking care of the environment.’
The promotion will include tastings of many products including olive oils, wines, cheeses and charcuterie as well as cakes and sweets.
