Congratulations are due for Alan Boardman who has managed to raise €25,000 for Costa del Sol charities in the last 4 years.
The unstoppable Alan has reached a milestone in his charitable endeavours by raising €25 thousand through his Fun Quizzes and his Mijas Walking Tours For Charity which score 95 per cent on TripAdvisor since the lifting of COVID restrictions when many charities were left reeling financially with no shop or event income.
The first beneficiary was Donkey Dreamland, with €195 raised, then followed another 26 charities. His aspiration is to raise €1,000 for each charity. Every two months he nominates an important cause to support, and balances human and animal causes.
Alan’s fun walking tours and quizzes are more popular than ever.
He runs his walking tours once a week, with a lighthearted tale of the fascinating history, development and secret of Mijas Pueblo. The tours begin outside the Mijas Town Hall. They last about three hours. These tours are conducted in English with a maximum of 12 participants. The walks are gentle and include plenty of opportunities to rest. The suggested donation is just five euros, and the charity of choice for April and May is AFESOL.

Alan’s Fun quiz is held every two weeks in Fibbers Irish Bar, Torreblanca. It starts at 2.30pm. €2 to join in, with the next date on Tuesday, April 29. No booking required.
