Elderly tyre slasher vandalises dozens of cars on the same Costa Blanca street in Spain

After hitting 20 cars, serial tyre cutter 54 was arrested in Costa del Sol.


Unoff-duty Policia Nacional officers caught a TYRE slasher who operated in Benalmadena.

The 54-yearold man was first spotted early on Monday morning, in Torrequebrada, a district in the Costa del Sol.

The policeman observed the man puncturing car tires as he walked down Avenida Estrella del Mar.

The officer who was off duty called the control room 091 and they sent out cars to capture the criminal.

Benalmadena Policia Local police patrols found him near the vandalism spree and in possession of the quad key he used.

Officers counted 20 flat tires in several streets as they toured the urbanisation.

The majority of the tyres had been punctured twice, although some had had a complete set of four slashes.

Authorities have not excluded other vehicles from being affected by this slasher because they only conducted a superficial search.

The bizarre behaviour of the man was not explained by his car, which was parked nearby.
