After 34 years, Antas is still legal – CSN News

After 34 years, the Poligono Industrial Aljoroque, in Antas (Almeria), has been granted full legal status.

This milestone will be finalised by February 20^{The th}2025 will mark a new era in the development of the industrial and economic sectors for this region.

Aljoroque, established in Antas during the 1980s and 1990s, is a keystone of the economy. It has provided jobs for many people and houses more than 90 businesses. Its operations were hindered, however, by the lack of formal approval for urban planning, which limited expansion and investment.

The Antas Town Council recently approved the Partial Plan of Sector SR-1, which addresses these challenges. It offers legal certainty to current enterprises and paves the way for growth in the future. This project is expected to improve the infrastructure in the area, attract new investors, and stimulate economic growth.

The Mayor Pedro Ridao Zamora highlighted the importance of this achievement by noting that not only does it secure the current industrial base, but also sets up the foundation for sustainable progress in Antas.

Continued improvements to economic development.

The regularisation process required extensive collaboration between local authority, business owners and urban planning specialists. Updated land classifications were important, as was improving service connections and complying with safety and environmental standards.

After removing legal obstacles, the Poligono Industrial Aljoroque will become more attractive and competitive for existing companies as well as potential investors. This will ensure a prosperous future to the community.
