ADANA Coffee mornings with cake return at new venue in Sabinillas

ADANA, the volunteer-run charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs in the Western Costa del Sol, has just announced the return of its popular coffee mornings. These extremely popular events offer a relaxed way for the community to support the organisation’s life-saving work while enjoying good, like-minded company, delicious treats, and a chance to meet some of ADANA’s four-legged alumni.

The next gathering takes place on Friday, March 6, from 11am to 1pm at Frankie’s Bar in Sabinillas (Manilva area). Located on the Paseo Marítimo, the venue provides a welcoming spot by the sea for everyone to meet up. Attendees can savour excellent coffee, homemade cakes in a variety of flavours, and other goodies, all in support of the dogs at ADANA’s shelter.

Entirely run by volunteers by donations with a no-kill policy

ADANA (Association for the Rights of Abandoned Animals) is a non-profit organisation based in Estepona that has been caring for abandoned, sick, and injured dogs for over two decades. Run entirely by volunteers, the charity provides shelter, medical care, and loving rehoming without ever euthanising a healthy animal. Funds raised help cover food, veterinary treatments, and daily needs for the many dogs waiting for forever homes.

These coffee mornings, often called “cake mornings” or “desayuno con café,” feature ADANA merchandise for sale together with bargains, raffles, and plenty of tail-wagging visitors, many ex-ADANA dogs who return with their new families to show their gratitude. The atmosphere is always warm and lively, with opportunities to chat about adoption, volunteer, or simply enjoy the day.

While ADANA‘s traditional First Friday events were previously held at O’Callaghans in Sabinillas, this season brings a fresh twist with new flavours and a change of location to Frankie’s Bar. Organisers promise a fun, dog-friendly experience that highlights the joy these rescued animals bring to the community.

The volunteers from ADANA invite the local community on March 6 to sip, snack, and support the cause – every euro helps give a deserving dog a second chance. Check out ADANA’s social media for more info.
