ACE Summer Fundraiser – a tail-wagging success

ACE Summer Fundraiser – a tail-wagging success

On Saturday, 5th July, over 120 animal lovers attended a charity fundraiser dinner at Miraflores Restaurante Spikes & Bobby Jones.│SHIN Dog Shelter, which took place at Miraflores Restaurante Spikes & Bobby Jones on Saturday, 5 July.

Beginning with a glass of Cava and a delicious 3-course meal, followed by live entertainment from international vocalist Harvey James, the event was sponsored by Costa Connection Magazine and raised €3,020 to help feed and look after the 500+ dogs and more than 200 cats currently in the care of the La Cala de Mijas-based refuge.

The evening was highlighted by a charity auction, raffle and great prizes that were generously donated to ACE by the local community.

Then, in a heartfelt speech, ACE President & Founder Fabienne Paques spoke about the ongoing challenges of running a dog shelter where the animals need some 300 kg of food every single day, as well, of course, as veterinary care and medication.

Relying solely on donations, any and all support is much appreciated by everyone at ACE, which has saved and rehomed more than 33,000 dogs ─ and cats ─ since 1999. You can help by donating food, volunteering a few hours a week, sponsoring, adopting, or remembering the animal charity you support in your will.

The ACR team gives special thanks to all who helped make the event both highly enjoyable and successful, especially Ludo and his team at Miraflores Restaurante Spikes & Bobby Jones.
