New support group expands reach: Alzheimer and dementia help arrives in Mijas and inland areas

A new support group for Alzheimer’s and dementia has arrived in Mijas, and the inland areas

Alzheimer and Dementia Support Group Mijas Costa’s services have been expanded with new meeting places in Fuengirola and other locations. Residents who are worried about memory loss can now access free and compassionate assistance on the Costa del Sol.

The new schedule was recently announced by the organizers to reach out to more people with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Pat Jay encourages everyone who notices changes to ask for help without being afraid.

Tamisa Golf is hosting new Fuengirola Meetings

Tamisa Golf is now the new venue for meetings in Fuengirola. Each month, the sessions take place between 11am and 1pm on the 1st & 3rd of each month. Volunteers share their knowledge and experiences with attendees at no charge.

Pat Jay highlights welcoming group. “Have you noticed that your memory hasn’t been as good as before? You may be having trouble with names and words. Don’t let it frighten you, especially if you are on your own… we give help, support and advice to anyone who needs it.”

Coin

The inland group extends its reach with a meeting at J&S Restaurant Sierra Chica, situated opposite La Trocha in Coin. The next session will take place on 18th April, from 12pm-2pm. This is a relaxed environment for advice and discussion.

The group includes people with dementia, caregivers seeking advice, and those who want reliable information. Volunteers donate their time for free to encourage open discussions and reduce isolation.
