A Christmas gift idea from Age Concern Marbella – San Pedro

Christmas means different things to most people. For kids it’s lots and lots of presents. For teenagers it means the coolest things around. We’ve all been there, but what do you get for older expats?

There are three types of gift. High cost. Low cost. NO cost. I know it seems crazy… but how can you give the perfect gift that costs nothing?

This Christmas, Age Concern Marbella – San Pedro invite our amazing expat community to embrace a simple but powerful idea: making sure that no older person ever needs to feel alone.

So… what is this NO COST gift?

It’s a little of your TIME.

We know that the festive season is filled with lights, music and celebration, but for many older people it represents a period of staring at four walls, loneliness and social isolation, and memories of loved ones who are no longer here.

That is why we are encouraging everyone to share a little kindness, a little connection and a little TIME with others.

Each one of us can make a huge difference with SMALL gestures. A friendly phone call, sharing a “cuppa and a chat,” helping with shopping or offering a lift to our Community Centre or any one of our six Social Coffee Mornings. Doing just one of these things can brighten someone’s entire week.

At Age Concern Marbella – San Pedro we see every day how meaningful human contact can be. It builds confidence, restores hope and reminds people that they are valued. This is what we mean by a ‘NO COST’ Christmas gift that EVERYONE can give.

This season give the gift that matters the most. A little of your time which means you are giving a piece of yourself. Show our older neighbours that they are seen, appreciated, and never forgotten

We are here to serve and we CARE.

Take the time to call us weekdays from 10 – 6 pm on  689 35 51 98 or email us at info@ageconcernmarbella.com.
