A British woman wanted for child sexual crimes has been arrested in Valencia

A British woman suspected of committing sexual crimes against children in Britain has been arrested in Valencia.

The Policia Nacional arrested the 42-year-old suspect in La Punta, a district of the capital.

Interpol, Manchester, issued an international arrest warrant for her.

The Brit was detained on May 5 after the police received information that suggested she could be hiding in a property located in Valencia.

The woman was found and arrested following extensive surveillance.

She was brought before a Valencian Court and placed in custody.

Authorities have not provided any further information.

Normal procedure requires that a person facing extradition be sent to the National Court of Madrid for processing.
