Six people were detained after a daytime row in València’s Beteró district escalated into a brawl when children playing in the street hit a car with a ball.
The incident unfolded at about 1.30pm on Saturday in Calle Pintor Parra, where several patrols from the Policía Nacional and Policía Local were sent after the argument quickly grew out of hand.
According to police sources cited by Spanish media, the trouble began when some of the people involved became angry after the ball struck the vehicle. What started as a dispute then turned into a fight involving several people in the street.
Officers brought the situation under control and arrested six adults at the scene. Police said four of those detained were Spanish, one was Ukrainian and one Armenian.
The suspects are aged between 20 and 62, the same sources said.
Once the arrests had been made, the six were taken to the Inspección Central de Guardia at the Zapadores police complex in València, where officers continued with the paperwork and other initial enquiries.
No injuries were reported in the material reviewed by CNS, and police have not indicated that any further arrests are expected. The case is understood to remain in the hands of the relevant police investigators.
