Graffiti on the facade of a local party office

Hate graffiti sprayed on Socialist office

A swastika and an anti-left insult were sprayed on the facade of the Socialist party office in Rincón de la Victoria, in what the local branch described as an attempt to intimidate its members.

The graffiti was discovered on Saturday morning. It comes just five days after another PSOE office in nearby Vélez-Málaga was vandalised in a separate incident.

Local branch condemns the attack

The local PSOE said the building was its “Casa del Pueblo” — a place for democratic participation — and condemned the vandalism as an attack on democratic values.

Antonio Sánchez, secretary general of the branch, said the office was a public space for participation and coexistence and that the graffiti would not alter the party’s work in the town.

The message painted on the building included a swastika and a phrase targeting the left. The party said the act combined Nazi symbolism with hate speech directed at its members.

Second attack in five days

The latest incident follows another act of vandalism at the PSOE office in Vélez-Málaga, where the walls were daubed with an insult aimed at Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and an obscene drawing beside the entrance.

That earlier attack drew condemnation from the town’s mayor, Jesús María Claros, of the Partido Popular, who said he would reject the same behaviour whoever the target was.

No arrests have been reported in connection with either incident.
