Torremolinos City Council launched a proposal for creating personalised emojis that represent the locality, joining an increasing trend of local authorities creating digital symbols tied to their unique identities.
The council, through its social networks, unveiled a set of proposed emojis inspired by Torremolinos & La Carihuela. This is one of Torremolinos’ most recognizable neighbourhoods. Presenting the initiative, the council wrote, “A need has been created for us… we love them!”
Local authorities also defended this proposal, stating “Torremolinos is deserving of the emoji” before asking social media users and residents which designs they’d use for their daily digital communications.
