Mijas Save A Life campaign installs 12th defibrillator after El Golf fundraiser raises €1,592

Save A Life continues to be a community effort in Mijas that strengthens emergency response capabilities. Gerry Hannam announced the installation of the 12th AED defibrillator in Mijas, Spain at Restaurant El Golf on May 20, Gerry Hannam. The campaign provided direct support for extra costs. Last week’s fundraising event at the Golf Club also contributed to the project.

El Golf fundraiser brings strong results to community

Event planners at El Golf achieved a total of €1,592 in proceeds. The AEDs, which are shipped in from Motril, cost in the region of €2,000. Tickets for the afternoon event were sold out weeks in advance. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Harvey James, Beni Nelsen and Andy King Elvis tribute were among the musical acts. The guests danced and sang energetically from the beginning to the end. The raffle prizes were donated by residents of the area, demonstrating broad support for the cause. The artists’ time and talent was donated completely free.

Outdoor location: Waterproof cabinet is added

The club has chosen a spot that requires full weather protection. Save A Life, therefore, provided an extra €500 to equip the defibrillator with a strong waterproof cabinet. This adjustment provides reliable operation in any condition and ensures that the unit is ready to use immediately.

A new device improves safety on a popular site

Recent fundraiser proceeds and funds from the campaign funded the installation at Restaurant El Golf. This addition will bring life-saving equipment to the busy dining areas of Mijas. The ability to respond quickly in cardiac emergencies increases survival rates dramatically.

Thank you to all of our generous donors

Hannam expressed warm appreciation Thank you to all who came or contributed. ‘Collective generosity and commitment drive real progress for local safety,’ he stated. Mijas residents and businesses join together to create these events in order to protect their neighbours, golfers and visitors. Additional installations will be planned as this initiative continues to spread across the region.
