Torremolinos, Spain is ready to rock as its bars and restaurant transform into live music venues during the 14th Ruta Del Rock. 60 free concerts will be held over two weekends.
What is Ruta del Rock?
Ruta del Rock (free music crawl) is a very popular, free event that covers the entire city of Torremolinos. The event is in its 14th season and has had a hugely successful history. You can move between the venues at your own pace and try out different foods and music. Local talent is the norm for most of the performing artists. The concerts are held in a variety of locations, allowing you to get really close to the musicians.
Dates and times of events in the neighbourhood
The festival spans two weekends: the first, from Friday 22 May to Sunday 24 May, and the second, from Friday 29 May to Sunday 31 May. The Friday and Saturday shows are between 7pm-11pm. Sunday performances run from 5pm-9pm.
Venues are located in Torremolinos’ neighbourhoods, including the centre of town, Playamar and Los Alamos. Other locations include La Carihuela (La Carihuela), El Calvario (El Calvario), Montemar and El Pinillo. This makes it easy to get there, no matter where you live.
Who performs?
Although it’s called the Ruta del rock there are a number of genres covered including rock and pop, soul music, blues, indie, jazz and more. Suzette, Alvarock and Elise Soul Sistah are among the confirmed performers. Proper and Lady Punk are among the many performers. Also, Maika lavera, Red Bus Rock and Wayne Ward.
