On Monday morning, the National Police arrested a suspect for the alleged killing of a woman. The circumstances of the woman’s death are still being investigated, but the suspect is listed in the VioGen database and could have been under a restraining orders in relation to his former partner.

According to an initial investigation, a man barricaded inside a Calle Virgen de Luna flat after spraying pepper spray on the building’s entrance. He had a knife.

According to reports, both the suspect and victim would appear in court on Monday.

In order to arrest the suspect, several firefighters and members of the National Police participated in the operation. It was only possible to enter the flat with the firefighters’ help.

The emergency services confirmed that the woman had died once they entered the building.
