The new route this year promises to be challenging.

This is one of the most thrilling mountain running events, whether you are competing or watching. It starts with a brutal 3 km climb up Mount Calamorro. You gain 650m in elevation.

Athletes navigate a rugged, but picturesque, course.

Established in 2008, the Calmorro Skyrace is the fourth event in the Merrell Skyrunner World Series – a global circuit of 19 elite mountain races held across 12 countries.

With a men and women’s categories and €1,500 of prize money up for grabs for first-place, this year’s field is one of the strongest in the event’s 17-year history.

Luca del Pero of Italy and Cordoba’s Patricia Pineda, last year’s champions, return this year to the trail to reclaim top spot.

Trail runners of all levels will tackle a 13km shorter course, which includes 689km elevation gain.
