The Basque police arrested a man, 45, on Friday after his wife, 44 years old, was killed violently in Basauri.
The suspect is suspected of being involved in the death of the victim, which took place on Wednesday in north Spain.
The regional police arrested his partner after an investigation on Friday. They accused him of murder in relation to gender-based violence.
Investigations are still ongoing and authorities have yet to confirm the exact circumstances of the woman’s death.

A medical team was dispatched on Wednesday morning to a home in Basauri, where the women were discovered.
The woman was declared dead on the spot.
