JAECOO, a Chinese automaker that has made a strong start in its first year since its launch, announced two new variants to its best-selling JAECOO 7. One is JAECOO’s first hybrid model and the other one is the JAECOO SHS-H.
The new JAECOO 7 SHS-P Black Luxury introduces a visual upgrade to the plug-in hybrid SHS model, priced from €42,177/£36,500 and available exclusively in top-of-the-range Luxury specification. Blacked-out styling includes a dark front grille and black logos across the vehicle. A black “Luxury’ C-pillar badge is also included. Black mirrors, roofs, wheels, and roof rails are also included in the full black detailing. Interior elements like a black headliner, sun visors and interior elements including a black roof and roof rails complete this look.
In addition to the Black Luxury version, the new JAECOO 8 SHS-H offers a full hybrid variant, which allows for a convenient entry into electric driving without plugging in. It is available in two trim levels – Pure and Deluxe – with prices starting from €33,736/£29,195 and €37,895/£32,795 respectively. Pure grade includes tweed upholstery, 33cm/13″ infotainment screens, wireless Apple CarPlay® Android Auto is included as standard, along with a refrigerated console, dual-zone climate controls, a six-speaker soundsystem, front and back parking sensors, and cooled centre-console. The Deluxe model adds eco-leather, an eight-speaker audio system, and a 35cm/14 inch infotainment display, among other upgrades.
The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine is paired with an auto-charging hybrid, which delivers 224 PS. It can go from 0 to 100kph in 8.3 seconds, and reach a top-speed of 180km/112mph. The 1.5-litre powertrain is designed for hybrid use and offers extra-urban fuel consumption of 4.43 L/100km/53 MPG.
These new variants are a continuation of JAECOO’s impressive debut year in the UK. With over 35,000 new vehicles registered in the UK and a rapidly growing dealer network, electrics have played a key role in this growth.
All JAECOO 7 variants – including these two new additions – are supported by the brand’s 7-year/160,000km/100,000-mile warranty, with one year of complimentary RAC breakdown cover included as standard. The new JAECOO7 SHS-P and SHSH models will be on sale from May 2026.
