Ex-Malaga CF coach Bernd Schuster brings celebrity charity golf tournament to Marbella

Bernd Schoster, ex-coach of Malaga CF, hosts celebrity charity golf tournament in Marbella

Bernd Schuster, former head coach of Malaga CF, will host a charity event in Marbella this year.

The Torneo Schuster and Friends, which will be held at Santa Clara Golf Marbella on 5 and 6 June, will bring together 150 guests and around 80 representatives from the worlds of sport, entertainment and the media.

The German started the tournament in 2004 to bring celebrities together for a good cause. Now, for the first time, the former FC Barcelona and Real Madrid midfielder has chosen Andalucía as the location, citing the Costa del Sol as an inspiring destination that fits the spirit of the event.

“Coming on the Costa del Sol brings it to a whole new level.” “It’s an exciting destination and it fits in perfectly with the type of tournament we are looking to have,” said he.

The organisers confirmed that all proceeds will go to the association Sonrisas sin Cáncer, which raises awareness of childhood cancer, supports research and improves the quality of life for affected families. An auction for charity will be held to support the cause at the end of the event.

Confirmed participants include TV presenter Risto Mejide, comedian Miguel Lago, journalist Iñaki Cano, choreographer Poty Castillo and former footballer Raúl Ruiz.
