Patients in Spain are horrified to witness the fatal stabbing of a nurse by her ex-boyfriend.

A 65-YEAR OLD nurse died on Monday at Castellon General Hospital, after her ex-boyfriend stabbed and injured her at Benicassim Health Centre.

Benicassim Policia Local has arrested the 70 year old attacker after several witnesses subdued the assailant in the waiting area.

Ana Sorribes was the nurse at the Medical Centre at the time.

Her ex-partner has stabbed her multiple times with a big knife.

According to sources, ABC Ana’s neck was among the many serious injuries she sustained.

Before she was transported to hospital, colleagues and an emergency ambulance team treated her. But she died shortly after she arrived.

Civil Guard officials said that neither the victim nor the attacker had been included in the VioGen system for gender violence monitoring.

The Valencian Community Nursing Council expressed its ‘resounding repudiation and rejection’ of the aggression.

It said the killing highlighted the ‘the serious problem suffered by health personnel in daily care’ and a ‘lack of safety protocols’.

In Spain, seven women were murdered this year by their partners or former partners.

Since 2003 when the first domestic-related death statistics were compiled, 1,350 women are dead.
