SONNY R. REDMOND RESCUED IN UK

Informacion The newspaper reported on Thursday that the alleged assailant appeared before a judge in Orihuela who remanded his into custody.

The investigation by the Guardia Civil is under strict confidentiality.

One of the key aspects of the Guardia case is the link with the attempted murder of Sonny Redmond (32), who was found in his car, parked underground at Lomas de Cabo Roig, 10 days before.

Redmond was arrested in Bootle, Merseyside and bailed a few days before his arrest for leading a gang of extortioners in the Vega Baja district.

Redmond’s car was hit three times by up to 15 bullets.

He spent several days in Torrevieja Hospital, but broke his bail conditions when he fled Spain and returned to Merseyside. There he was arrested for a case from 2016 involving the possession a mobile phone and knife in a UK jail.

The case will be heard in June. Informacion Reports indicate that an Orihuela Court has issued a warrant of international arrest for Redmond.

All of the shooting incidents are believed to be related to a ‘turf war’ related to drug trafficking involving UK and Irish gangs on the Costa Blanca, but there has been no official confirmation of this.

Meanwhile inquiries are continuing into a missing British man who ‘vanished’ from the Orihuela Costa in late December/early January.

The Guardia Civil is keeping all possibilities open in relation to the 28-year old Liverpudlian who has not been named and haven’t confirmed any link with other violent incidents.
