After a nearly decade-long planning process and many bureaucratic hurdles Evolution Park Carratraca is a small village in Malaga Province, located just 40 minutes south of Malaga Central.

The park covers 200 hectares
The nearly 200-hectare Evolution Park, located on the slopes between Sierra de Aguas & Sierra Blanquilla and about 4km from Carratraca centre, combines science, conservation, and leisure in a unique way. The park promotes its role as a centre of animal rescue, habitat recreation and immersive experiences. Developers say its €10 million investment and potential to generate over 350 direct and indirect jobs will give a vital economic boost to the rural Guadalteba region.
World’s longest aquarium & Spain’s largest aviary
The world’s largest aquarium is an 80 metre long continuous tank that offers visitors a walking immersive experience through aquatic worlds. Spain’s largest bird enclosure will also be on display, designed to allow visitors to see rare birds up close in naturalistic settings. Other highlights include a natural science museum, an ultra-modern planetarium, 360-degree cinemas for stunning environmental storytelling, and panoramic train rides similar to safaris, which allow visitors to observe animals in recreated global environments.
Themed zones with diverse ecosystems
The park will feature themed zones that transport visitors to diverse eco-systems. It will also offer an extensive conservation and education programme aimed at schools, families, researchers and professionals. For an even more immersive experience, eco-friendly lodges and on-site dining will be available, as well as accommodation.
Carratraca is positioned alongside regional landmarks, such as the Caminito del Rey, by local authorities and project leaders. With phased development targeting an opening around 2027–2028, Evolution Park represents a brave vision for inland Andalucia, merging cutting-edge attractions with genuine ecological values.
