Calle Chorreadero is still closed in Marbella

It is expected that the works will last about one month. They are being carried out with full safety and technical guarantees by a company local from San Pedro de Alcantara. In the first phase of the project, crews will focus on clearing a slope that covers approximately 2,500 sq. m. The next step will be the installation of a mesh to contain the slope and prevent further landslides. The affected section of Calle Chorreadero is closed to traffic for safety reasons throughout the duration.

Recent preventive efforts have proved effective in minimising the damage caused by recent adverse weather conditions. In the Puerto Banus tunnel for example, which has been prone in the past to flooding, causing vehicles to be trapped and pedestrians as well as drivers to be at risk of being injured, there were no issues this time. The ongoing cleaning and maintenance has also played an important role in reducing overall storm impact.
