ANDALUCIA is the most popular destination for short-term holiday rentals in Europe.
Eurostat released new figures today that show the southern Spanish region will dominate the market in the second quarter 2025.
Between April and June, Andalucia saw a record 13.3 million bookings made on online platforms like Airbnb, Booking, Expedia, and TripAdvisor.

The Jadranska Hrvatska coast region in Croatia recorded 9,6 million nights, which is the nearest competitor.
Andalucia, the region that includes Paris, came in third place with 9.0 millions nights.
Andalucia’s gap of almost 4 million nights with the runner up shows just how popular it has become in comparison to other major destinations on the continent.
Spain is the dominant European destination for holidays, confirms data.

Six of 20 top tourist regions were Spanish. Sun and beach destinations are the most attractive to international tourists.
The list also includes Catalunya, the Canary Islands and the Valencian Community.
The report highlights the booming summer across the entire continent.
In the EU, between July 2025 and September 2025, guests rented short term accommodation for 398.1 millions of nights.

This is an increase of 8.7% compared with the same period in 2020, and a huge 28.2% jump from 2023.
The surge in tourism numbers is great news for the local economies, but it also comes amid ongoing discussions about the sustainability of the numbers.
Andalucia is now the undisputed leader in Europe for short-term rentals. This success may put pressure on local authorities to balance it with the housing needs of local residents.
