Christmas Day brings back the traditional Living Nativity Scene with more activities.

The ELCHE City Council and its Department of Festivities are preparing the Living Nativity Scene for its return on Christmas Day, December 25 at 11:30am, in the Hort del Xocolater. The event, which is a symbol of Christmas in Costa Blanca, will turn the area into a historical town with lots of activities for the residents.
This year’s edition of the long-awaited project includes exciting new features.
This year, nearly 45 members of the Association of Residents of Elche have collaborated on the project to bring to life the traditional Nativity Scene. Residents of Elche can immerse themselves into the history of Christmas and their city through this recreation. It requires a lot of care, attention, and effort.
The scene this year will also include several new features. Short performances will be added, children will have the opportunity to play with puppets, the Roman Camp, Herod’s palace will be expanded and there will be hands-on workshops. Local and talented artisans will use esparto, ceramics and blacksmithing.
The success of last year: A festival that combines acting talent and immersive storytelling
Elche’s Living Nativity Scene takes place in a beautiful and peaceful setting. palmeral, Elche’s palm grove. The show recreates Bethlehem’s life around the birth Jesus, with actors in costume, period scenes and themed areas.
The edition held last year, from December 25, 2020, to January 6, 2030, featured 40 people from the Historical and Artistic Settlers Association of Elche. A local cultural organization that promotes historical reenactments and theatrical performances in the city.
