A body was discovered by police searching for an older British woman who has vanished from home in southern Spain. The body was lying in vegetation near a motorway.
Geraldine Ann (73), disappeared mid-September, shortly after she left her home in Chirivel near Granada after a disagreement with her husband.
She left the house late at night, in her pyjamas, flip-flops and a t-shirt to feed cats. Her partner had argued with her the day before.

Investigators have now discovered a body near an autoroute, and they believe it is Geraldine.

The discovery took place less than a mile away from the expat’s home in Andalucia.
The town hall of Chirivel said in a statement: “We deeply regret having to inform you about a body found near the A-92, which is believed to be Geraldine’s, pending confirmation by the authorities.”
The body will now be taken for autopsy, at which time it will be formally identifed.
When asked about her disappearance at the time, Jose Torregrosa Mota of Chirivel said that: “She was suffering from senile dementia and had left her house the night before she went missing after an argument with her husband.”
